The back and waist area is troublesome for many women, although the options for improvement are not widely known. Many women get a bra roll, either near the posterior armpit region or under the bra yet above the waist. After menopause, the waistline tends to thicken, with fat creeping into this region (according to many patients) almost overnight! It's not uncommon to see three rolls—a bra roll followed by a waist roll sitting on top of broad and boxy flanks (love handles).
It is unusual to need to remove skin in these regions, unless there has been massive weight loss.
When a skin overhang is not present, Vaser liposelection can be used to dramatically change the shape of the torso
This 43-year old had broad flanks. Her buttock region was actually quite small. Disproportionately large flanks can be treated very well with fat removal alone, as long as the skin quality is good.
Two months after surgery, this woman has a beautiful shape. The small incisions from the Vaser procedure fade to white within about 6-8 months.

An oblique view shows the dramatic change. This patient had a tummy tuck as well.
