Who is a good candidate for cheek and chin implants?

The best results are usually seen in both men and women who have a hereditary hollow underneath the eyes and in the central cheek region. People with a long thin face can also benefit from cheek augmentation. A receding chin often creates an imbalance of features, especially in the profile view. A balanced facial contour can be achieved with facial implants as long as your teeth are positioned correctly.

What can cheek and chin implants do for me?

Cheek and chin implants are inserted just on top of the bone, in the region of the zygoma (cheek bone) or in the center of the mandible (chin bone). Usually they are fixed at three points to avoid rotation or migration. These implants fill out hollow areas, and create a full curve in an area that was formerly flat. If your bone structure is less than perfect, implants may be able to correct your facial contour without moving segments of bone around. Creating an attractive facial contour starts at the point of bone structure. If you have a weak chin or a flat cheek area, facial augmentation may help improve the imbalance that you inherited or that developed with age or after an injury.

Other procedures

Cheek and chin implants are not the only alternatives for improving deep undereye hollows or a weak chin. While implants give the most permanent result, fat grafting or filler injections can also add volume to deficient areas.

Other procedures frequently done in conjunction with soft tissue augmentation include:
