The Almost Scarless Breast  Lift

 

Radiofrequency  Assisted Tissue Tightening

 

The device pictured was developed by Invasix, an Israeli company who has pioneered tissue tightening and fat reduction in other parts of the body. The collagen strands that connect the fat and base layer to the skin are selectively tightened with the heated cannula tip. No fat is removed. Tissue is heated at multiple levels in order to “firm” the breast and 

to reattach it to the base layer of the chest wall. The layer just under the skin is treated twice, in order to tighten the fibrous collagen network a little more. While the skin itself is not actually tightened, it shrinks to accommodate the tightening of the fibroseptal network just under the skin. 

 

The first group of patients treated has been breast augmentation patients who needed a small lift, often called a “periareolar lift”, named for the scar around the nipple-areola where skin is removed.

 

A recent study showed that breast augmentations done with this incisions are associated with more numbness after surgery. 

 

The comparison below shows a traditional periareolar lift on the top as compared to the “almost scarless” lift  on the bottom.

Through January 30, we are offering this procedure starting at $1900, local anesthesia included. Only ten people will qualify at this price, and two places have already been reserved. 

 

Qualifying patients must need no more than 3 cm of nipple elevation. This lift can be combined with a regular breast augmentation, but then a light general anesthetic would be required. The augmentation and anesthesia would be at additional cost. 

 

Patients who have this treatment done under the study rules would be required to have a screening mammogram done before the procedure, and it would need to have been done within the past 6 months. Patients would need to come in for all routine appointments plus photographs at 6 months and one year. 

 

Another advantage of this procedure is minimal down time. We request that you take one day off work; then you can return to work or moderate activity the following day. Mild swelling and bruising can be expected for 1-2 weeks. 

 

It is possible that your breasts may look a little smaller after treatment as a little fat may be melted as the tissue is heated. No tissue is removed; it is only tightened. The amount of improvement may not be as significant as hoped for. All applicants must be screened before qualifying for this treatment.
